Grech: "I Would Love to Participate Again"

Nowadays we are discussing many things about Eurovision 2023.

We only know one thing that Eurovision 2023 will be held in the United Kingdom. Also we did live programme with her on my YouTube channel that is called Adem Kavaz ESC.

For this interview, I would like to thank to Jessica Grech from Malta. She participated national selection for 2022 and performed Aphrodisiac.

We talked about many things about Maltese entries, Eurovision, Eurovision 2022 and 2023 via Facebook.

Here is the details…

What does Eurovision mean for you? Can you describe with 3 words ?

Eurovision for me means unity and getting to see people's creativity in music from all around Europe and Australia of course (with smile icon). I've always loved it so much it's the highlight of the year for me so in three words: Better than Christmas!

Which country is your favorite in esc?

This is hard for me to answer actually, because I like to judge or enjoy the songs based on what the music is like rather than where it is from. However if I had to choose a country it would have to be Italy because in Malta we have direct access to Italian television and I always watch Sanremo and usually the winning song is then played a lot on TV. I also have some Italian roots as my grandfather is Sicilian.

Which are your favorite songs ever in Eurovision history?

Italy - Zitti e buoni - Måneskin

Italy - Soldi - Mahmood

Cyprus - Fuego - Eleni Foureira

Turkey - Düm Tek Tek - Hadise

Belgium - Rhythm Inside - Loïc Nottet

Switzerland - She Got Me - Luca Hänni

Sweden - I Can't Go On - Robin Bengtsson

Norway - Spirit in the Sky - KEiiNO

Norway - Give That Wolf a Banana - Subwoolfer

United Kingdom - Spaceman - Sam Ryder

Spain - SloMo - Chanel

Which song or songs of Malta  do you like in Eurovision history?

My favorite Maltese songs are definitely 7th Wonder, Another Summer Night, Taboo and Chameleon

You were in national selection for 2022 and you performed Aphrodisiac.  You have more experience now. Do you want to participate national selection again?

My experience in Malta Eurovision Song Contest was my biggest learning curve in music yet, I learned so much about the industry and myself.  And I would love to participate again!

I would like to ask one more questions. There are many singers from Malta. Who has potential to represent Malta for 2023?

There are many singers, true and it all depends on the song in my opinion. However, right now without any idea of who is applying etc, I think Aidan has the biggest potential
